CHICAGO COMEDY CO-OP 19 (SKETCH SHOW)
During the spring of 2020, Ryan co-created, with Dr. Stephanie McCullough of The Second City, an online sketch show. “Chicago Comedy Co-op 19” showcases comedy created during the COVID-19 lockdown period. Ryan hosted the show, writing intros, outros, and interstitial sketches. You can watch every episode in the playlist linked here.
TIRED AND OVERWORKED (MUSICAL SHORT)
“Tired and Overworked” is a musical ode to the gig economy written, directed, and edited by Ryan, and featuring himself and his castmates from their Second City Conservatory Training Center show.

PINEAPPLE-SHAPED LAMPS (SKETCH COMEDY)
Ryan was there for the very first writers’ meeting in the summer of 2010 as Pineapple-Shaped Lamps formed in Wilmington, North Carolina, and stuck with them for years after. PSL performed weekly, then monthly, sketch shows live onstage in Wilmington, as well as producing filmed sketches. He served as joint head writer for the group (with Tini Howard) from 2014 until he moved to Chicago in 2016.
THE RYAN TRIMBLE WRITING PACKET, EPS. 1 & 2 (SKETCH COMEDY)
In 2013, Ryan wrote and directed two editions of a show featuring all his own material, more or less just to prove to himself that he could. The second episode premiered in a Wilmington theatre to a sold-out crowd. He has not watched it in a long time but he think it holds up pretty well, particularly the sketch linked here. You can read a feature on Ryan where he talks about writing the episodes below.
MURDER AT THE COUNTRY CLUB (PLAY)
A dinner theatre comedy written with Chelsea Deaner for TheatreNOW in Wilmington, North Carolina. When the newly appointed chairman of the city’s Gardenia Gala dies within hours of the event, it’s up to an aging Southern Belle, a creepy chef, a hounding reporter, a clueless cop, a frustrated techie, and an exasperated TV writer to solve the crime—and serve a delicious meal while doing so.
You can find a review of the show below.
